PCM Students playing drums and keyboard on stage. The Pre-Prep program is for students in 3rd through 5th grade. It provides low-cost, high-quality learning experiences centered around music creation integrated with specific community collaborations that respond to children’s critical needs.

The Pre-Prep program is centered around music creation experiences to engage younger music learners while providing them equitable access to food support and mental wellness.
Programming provides quality childcare and music education focusing on creativity, collaboration, community, and music fundamentals.  It is an out-of-school time program that will take place one day a week (pick one consistent day for the entire 30 weeks) on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.  It is a 30-week program that begins in September and runs through May.  Students will participate in three 10-week classes during the 30 weeks. After 10 weeks, they will rotate to the next class until all three classes are taken during the 30 weeks.  The classes include We Make Noise (beat-making and audio production), Songwriting, and Music Theory on the Piano.  These classes will provide a basis for understanding music and how it’s put together and are an excellent precursor (along with private lessons) to joining the College Prep Program.

The program’s tuition is $70 per month, but financial aid and scholarships are available for families in need.
Private lessons are an additional fee and are recommended for students looking to enter the College Prep
Program. Financial aid and scholarships are available for families in need. Please email info@pcmrocks.org for an application.

Registration will open on August 1, 2024. Programs start on September 03, 2024, and run through May 08, 2025. Lucky students will pick one day of the week (Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday) to enroll for the entire 30 weeks. Check-in will start at 5:15 pm, 5:30-6:45 will be one of the three 10-week classes, and 6:45-7:00 is dinner with tutoring. Pick-up is at 7:00 pm.
