The Phoenix Conservatory of Music’s mission is to unleash the power of music by providing high-quality music education and experiences to students and families that are affordable and accessible. We fulfill our mission by offering community education programs and classes, after-school programs for at-risk populations, private music lessons, ensembles, and a unique college preparatory program in affiliation with Berklee College of Music’s Berklee City Music Network and other higher education institutions and community partnerships.

The Teaching Artists Training Institute believes that transformational music education starts with transformational training for music teachers. Founded by a generous grant from the Paul M. Angell Family Foundation, the Teaching Artists Training Institute (TATI) was launched in 2020. In just three years, TATI has engaged more than 230 Teaching Artists across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada through virtual programming and in-person Regional Conferences. TATI focuses on training and teaching artists in preparation and planning, instruction and support, and cultural equity and inclusion.

“We are thrilled to be offering our teaching artists, who are impactful program facilitators, the opportunity to be a part of this prestigious network of teaching artists who have trained with TATI”, says Regina Nixon, Executive Director.  “Our hope is that the training they receive will not only translate to their impact with the community they are directly serving, but that they can be peer leaders and peer trainers for our entire teaching artist community.”
