PCM’s Executive Director Regina Nixon selected as Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust Piper 2021 Fellow

Phoenix, Arizona: Phoenix Conservatory of Music is proud to announce Executive Director, Regina Nixon, is part of the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust 2021 Piper Fellows Class. Each yearly cohort is chosen based on their record of impact in Maricopa County and awarded the opportunity for “study, reflection and growth”.

“The Fellowship supports the professional development, study, and travel for the Fellow, including an intentional respite activity that provides the Fellow the opportunity to reflect on learnings … the Fellowship also supports some professional development for staff and/or board of a Fellow’s organization,” as stated in the Piper Trust announcement.

“The Fellowship is a huge honor and the opportunities provided through the fellowship will allow Phoenix Conservatory of Music to focus our next stage of growth around expanding services through Early Childhood Programs, Work Force Development and Scalability – ultimately serving more of our community,” said Regina Nixon, Executive Director and 2021 Piper Fellow.

Nixon also said, “The need for music education remains strong and to be able to use these resources to determine how to best serve an even younger student population and provide a strong foundation for learning through music that leads to success in reading, math, communication, collaboration, creativity and innovation along with the benefits of socially connecting and gaining confidence leads to more long-term success.  This is what PCM strives to do. With the help of the 2021 Piper Fellowship, PCM will be closer to making this part of our expansion and growth successful.”
